An educational kit for primary school
The National Crisis Center has developed a three-part interactive teaching kit for primary school pupils.
This kit is accompanied by the interactive online game BE-Ready, which prepares students in a fun way for various emergency situations.
An emergency plan for schools
- Keep the school's internal emergency plan up to date. The template of the internal emergency plan of the Flemish Authorities can be used as a basis for drawing up your own emergency plan.
- Each municipality has an emergency planning coordinator. Include this person in your emergency plan. Make sure this emergency planning coordinator also knows who to contact to pass on instructions to the school in an emergency.
- Regularly check that all contact persons and telephone numbers are correct.
- Identify the risks in the area around your school. Also think about the risks that could affect large parts of the country, such as power, gas or internet cuts. Is your school already prepared?
- Make sure all teachers are registered with BE-Alert. Ask them to register your school's address as well.
- Rehearse this emergency plan regularly with teachers and pupils.
