Evaluation
An evaluation takes place after every emergency. The competent authority examines which procedures went well and where there is room for improvement.
The points for improvement from this evaluation are incorporated into the emergency and intervention plans. It may also be decided to take special measures or to provide additional equipment or personnel.
In case of a major emergency at the federal level, Parliament can decide to appoint a parliamentary committee of enquiry. This committee investigates the crisis management and makes recommendations. Such a committee of enquiry was appointed after the 22 March 2016 terrorist attacks, and during the COVID-19 epidemic.
